Explore Moon to Mars — Human Factors: Our Skeleton

Audience: Educators, Parents, Caregivers
Event Date: July 9 at 6 p.m. EDT
https://na.eventscloud.com/556310Without the protective environment of Earth, our bodies experience various negative health consequences during short- and long-term spaceflight. As NASA prepares to send the first woman and next man back to the Moon (and eventually crews to Mars), it is imperative that effective countermeasures be identified to maintain astronauts’ health and well-being. The first in a series of webinars focused on the body in space. In this first installment, we’ll take an in-depth look at the Spacelab and International Space Station experiments (including the NASA Twins Study) that focus on bone physiology and interventions that could protect our skeletons while in space.
